No Child Should Suffer

World Child Cancer is dedicated to redressing the global inequality in treatment of children with cancer.  We improve cancer diagnosis and treatment for some of the world’s poorest children by creating international twinning partnerships between medics and parents in resource rich and resource poor countries.   

In developed countries children have a 75% chance of surviving cancer.  But the story is very different in low and middle income countries which account for 80% of the global incidence of childhood cancer.   In these countries, many children are left undiagnosed and of those that do receive treatment less than 20% survive. Worse, most die without any pain relief.  

We save lives and reduce suffering by creating sustainable centres of excellence in the treatment of child cancer in resource-poor countries.  We provide world class expertise, sustained guidance and essential funding.   We fund projects already in operation and support new ones where they are needed most.   Our emphasis is on creating successful twinning partnerships in which the expertise of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, parent support groups and fundraisers is transferred to low and middle income countries.
